Export Permits

Export permits are required for the removal of almost any animal product from Nunavut. This includes frozen caribou purchased from retail outlets. A special pamphlet on Exporting Wildlife explains all export procedures and is available from Nunavut Tourism.

Also, make yourself aware of all import regulations from your home country before you consider taking any animal product home. For example, sealskin and ivory cannot be imported into the US.
