Scattered over this immense land of ours are 28 communities, some dating back as meeting places for many hundreds, or even thousands of years. Some were established during the heyday of arctic trading in the 1920s and 1930s, and others when the government took a more active role during the 1950s and 1960s.
You will find us friendly, but PLEASE ask permission before you take pictures. Be careful not to be intrusive and you will usually find people willing to talk. Our children are always friendly and you’ll often find you have many "guides". |
